It's an age-old icon, a time-worn cliche: The lonely life of a writer...

That is because it's a reality for many of us: glued to our computers, shutting out the incessant distractions of human contact so we can think clearly and listen to our own inner voice.
Yet, every time we step outside of our inner hermitage, we break the shackles of our solitude by talking with and listening to others, writers or not.

In breaking out of our prized moments of concentration we also break the bonds of our repetitive thought patterns. We emerge refreshed, enlightened and inspired to approach our writing with new energy from a new perspective.
